Feeling Blessed

Hey Y'all!
Well this week was just wonderful in so many ways!  I am just feeling so blessed and so grateful.

MONDAY was a great day.  Sister Porter and I had a great time playing Phase 10... again :)  That is our favorite thing to do on P Days.    My studies were just awesome on monday.  I was just feeling so blessed to know that we can have eternal families in this gospel.  Heavenly Father truly does want all of his children to be happy and feel a sense of stability and belonging.  We receive these feelings through our families.  Families provide us with the greatest feelings of love and joy, but also sorrow and pain.  But if we look at our families with an eternal perspective, we can always learn from every situation and find the positive.  We had dinner with the Bell family.  They are just awesome.  They are evidence that the gospel really does bless individuals and families.  I love spending time with the members here.  I learn so much from them!

TUESDAY was just awesome!!!!  Sister Porter and I tried out this new thing where we get up 7  minutes to 6:30 so we can have a full half hour of exercise.  We tried it, and have done it every day since.  Our day just seemed to go so much better. Everything went the way it was supposed to.  We were able to have a great lesson with Liz on service.  We also had the chance to see a potential investigator and gain two new investigators from that visit.  We are excited to teach that family!!

WEDNESDAY was another great day!  We had a wonderful visit with two more potential investigators about the plan of Salvation and the Hallelujah video.  We have a return appointment with them this week.  They seemed so prepared for the Gospel.  We are just so excited to teach them!  They have their own ideas about things, but oddly enough, those ideas are the same as our beliefs in the church. So teaching them is going to be so great.  We also had a great lesson with a less active member.  He is this huge samoan guy from the islands!  He thinks that us just coming over is church for him, but we got him to pray about coming to church.  So he is making good progress!

THURSDAY was the beginning of the rain.  Storms here in Florida are nothing like any storm i have ever experienced.  You can literally feel the storm.  When it thunders, it shakes the walls and windows and you just feel it in your bones.  haha its pretty insane.  We had a great member present lesson with liz.  We talked about the importance of the Book of Mormon.  Liz has such a great testimony and was just so excited and ready for her Baptism!

FRIDAY was just crazy!  Probably one of my favorite days this week though!  We were able to visit a recent convert sister who hasn't really been coming to church.  We had a great visit with her.  She has the greatest desire to be sealed to her late husband!  So we will be helping her prepare for that.  Our favorite member, Tammy, came out with us for the afternoon.  We had some awesome lessons with the people we visited.  Our investigator, Vera, is just so inspiring.  She is going through the tail end of her treatments for Breast Cancer, and is just a trooper.  She has so much faith and knows that everything she has is from the lord.  She is just amazing.  I get strength just from being around her.

SATURDAY was the long anticipated Baptism for Liz!  It was such a special day.  We started off the day right and had an awesome breakfast with miss tammy and helped her with some packing in preparation for her move.  We then prepared for Liz's Baptism.  Filling up the font was just the best. We set up the chairs and all that jazz.  The Baptism was small, but it was perfect.  Liz was just beaming.  Bishop Ard was the one to Baptize her.  We showed the Hallelujah video while she was getting dried off and changed.  The spirit was just so strong when it said, " even so in christ shall all be made alive."  I am not sure if i mentioned this before, but liz has had two sisters pass away within the last 10 years or so.  I am positive that they were there at her baptism.  There was such a special spirit there.  I know that they both are so proud of liz and can't wait to have her do baptisms for them.  We also had the chance to watch the General Women's Broadcast at the church.  That was just so great.  I boo-hooed the whole time.  The spirit just bore a powerful witness to the truthfulness of the things that were shared.  I Love this Gospel so much and i am so happy to be a member of the church.

SUNDAY was easter and a great one at that.  I absolutely love easter.  Celebrating the  resurrection of Christ is just awesome.  The Bonifay ward put on a beautiful musical program all centered on the savior.  Again, i was just so overcome by the spirit that i was just crying.  Emotions definitely get the best of me.  Liz was also confirmed a member of the church and given the Gift of the Holy Ghost.  That was a wonderful experience as well.  She was just glowing with the light of the spirit.  She is such a sweet lady!  She has so much to look forward to in her new found life in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I know that the Savior lives.  I know that he Loves each of us so deeply.  Even though he was despised and rejected of men, he suffered the Atonement for each of us and was crucified to bring forth the resurrection.  I am so grateful for the knowledge we have of our LIVING Savior.  As we strive to understand and apply the atonement in our lives each day, we will become more like the savior and grow closer to him in the process. I love that we can find ourselves when we lose ourselves in the service of others.  When we are serving others, we are serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sure do Love and miss y'all!  Have a blessed week!
